You must all think that I spend half my life time in pubs ... believe me that is not the case !! Licensed since 1766, that makes The Long Hall 259 years old ! It has maintained much of it's old fashioned interiors and is a fine example of a Victorian Pub with handcrafted wood carvings and beveled and ornate glass. The fine clock behind the bar that calls time dates back to 18881 . This is one of Bruce Springsteen's favourites and Phil Lynott is seen having a drink at the bar in the video for " Old Town ". It is has been owned since 1972 by the Houlihan family. I love the fact that Marcus Houlihan sees himself as a custodian of the building with a job to keep it as it is for future generations.. I think is is safe in his hands ..
